Twenty-One Months...

Annabelle,

You are such a little lady these days! Two will be here before we know it! Here is what you have been up to lately...

- You are growing so fast! Your wear 2T and 3T clothes, and size 6 shoes.

- Your favorite things to do: baths, coloring, playing with your baby dolls, playing at the park, running, watching Mickey Mouse and Dora, reading, helping mama cook, going to the library, playing animals

- Favorite things to eat: all fruit (especially oranges & blueberries), muffins, broccoli, waffles, all "dip-dips" - you would eat ranch, ketchup and queso with a spoon, yogurt, any kind of cheese, applesauce, chicken, pizza, green beans, chicken soup (only from Chick-fil-a, not mama's homemade soup, of course.), oatmeal, and toast with jam.

- Things you say that I want to remember: At the beginning of the month you said "murr" for "more", now you say "mo-ooorre"; when you need me you rapidly say, "mama, mommy, mama, mommy" with increasing levels of volume; you call yourself "bay-belle" and the dogs "ba-be" and "la-lu"; you say so many things with such a southern accent; you count by saying "one, seven, eight, nine"; you say "come me" when you want to come somewhere with us (which is everywhere I go, even the bathroom)

- You wake up from naps in a terrible mood most days. It takes you about 20 minutes to feel like smiling/talking. I know exactly where you get that - naps ruin me.

- You have become very opinionated about what you will and will not eat. You will not eat any orange vegetables (not even a taste), and you regularly refuse food without even trying it first (even things that I know you will like). I would have never understood that before becoming a mother. Honestly, I would have said that "my child will try everything I give them". Ha! And someday that will be our rule, but trying to convince a toddler with streaming tears and a clamped mouth to try something - impossible. For now, I am going to just be grateful that you love lots of healthy foods.

- We spend lots of time searching for birds, cows, squirrels, cats, school buses, and airplanes.

- You call the dogs and your baby doll your "friends". You also know the names of the friends that we play with regularly, and you love to watch the big kids play. You love to put your babies to bed - you lay them on the ground, pat their backs, cover them with a blanket, and say "night-night". Such a little mama!

- You have been so obedient lately. I know that this will come in phases in the beginning, but I do think you are learning that we mean what we say. You love to give your thoughts on things, but you have been taking it well if we say no. You are such a sweet, curious, and bright little girl!

We love you so much, Annabelle!

Snow Day!

In case you can't read the measuring tape in that picture, it says "8 inches". EIGHT! I absolutely SWEAR we had more, but Jesse refused to take a picture that wasn't completely truthful of the moment. Seriously though, the weather man even said that we got between 9-12 inches here. A couple more inches, and I would have felt like I was back in Boston... except now I have a husband, and a baby, and a mortgage...
That's right baby, Mama used to live in a big city! Annabelle was extremely excited about seeing snowmen!
All bundled up and ready for action!

She preferred her snow "playing" from the safety of the wagon. We took a long walk through the neighborhood and watched all of the kids sledding down the streets with big hills. I loved seeing all of the families out together playing. When we were looking for houses this year, this type of thing was what made us want to stay in our sweet neighborhood so much!
Our snowman that Jesse built alone because Annabelle was starting to fade by that point.

Our city is closed down again tomorrow, so we are looking forward to another day at home and possibly some minor master bathroom renovations!

Pigtails!

I have been looking forward to putting Annabelle's hair into pigtails with real ribbons from the time we knew we were having a daughter. Her hair is finally long enough, and I could have just eaten this cutie pie up all day!

I just adore this precious little mess!

New Year's Eve!

One of my very favorite traditions during the holidays is spending New Year's Eve with our fabulous friends, Joy and Jordan. We haven't made it work every year, but when we do, it is so much fun!

Our 6th anniversary was New Year's Eve, and Joy & Jordan's 8th anniversary was a few days later, so it was a joint New Year's/Anniversary celebration!
We spent a lot of the weekend laughing as usual. Since their visit, Annabelle has been saying "Jordan funny" over and over.
Jordan and Jesse spent the day having "man time" while cutting down many trees in our backyard. Joy is my fashion guru, and we enjoyed several hours of shopping the next day!
We love you guys and can't wait to do it again!
