18 months...

Charlotte Grace,
You are 18 months old and just the most precious little toddler!  You are all personality - shy at first, and then just so funny!

Following in your sister's footsteps... dress up clothes - always!

You wear size 4 shoes, 18 month and 24 month clothes, and size 4 diapers.  You weight about 25 lbs.  During the past few weeks, you have cut 3 of your 4 molars bringing your teeth total up to 9!  Slow to get them, but now they are all coming at the same time.

When you are not teething or sick, you do some great sleeping now!  You usually go to be between 6:30 and 7:00 pm and sleep 12 hours.  You are taking one nap each day as well.

You are the busiest little monkey I have ever seen.  You are so brave and physically confident.  You climb the tallest ladders and go down the biggest slides at the park all by yourself.  You are on top of every stool, chair, and table in this house daily.  I do watch you nonstop, but you are fast!!  It is a miracle you haven’t climbed out of your crib yet.
Another day, another piece of furniture to climb

You regularly say: thank you, please, no, Annabelle (AH-BAH), sissy, mama, dada, nana, granddad, gabby, doggy, bite, bye-bye, right back, come play, baby, night-night, bath, bird, “here you go”, juice, and milk.  You will say “yes”, but you normally just say “uh” (like a grunt) when you agree. You will repeat anything we say, and understand EVERYTHING!!  You follow multiple step instructions with ease, and you love to help.  Your favorite thing to help with is throwing things in the trash can.  Frequently, I will hear the trash drawer shut, and have to go check to make sure it was really trash that you put in there.

This is your "don't touch my (really mama's - but stolen) ice cream" face

You adore your sister and want to do everything that she does.  You call her "sissy" most of the time.  At the same time, you are a little rough with her and are quick to tell her no.  She is so very good to you, and just loves you so much.  My biggest prayer is that the three of you girls grow up to be the closest of friends.

Sweet sisters at the beach

Several times a day, you pull up my shirt to kiss by belly and say “hi baby”.  You are so incredibly loving.  You give hugs and kisses all day.  You love to be tickled, but don’t really enjoy being rocked.  It is a treat to get to rock you when you are sick!  We do lots of books during the day, but you are not interested AT ALL at rocking and reading at night.  You just want to get in your crib.

After 7 or 9 terrible ear infections, you finally got tubes at about 17 months.  They seem to be making a huge difference for you in many ways.  Your constant congestion disappeared, your sleep improved, your speech is taking off, and you just seem to feel so much better.

Enjoying some water coloring - before you started drinking from the paint bowl!

Favorites: brushing your teeth, swinging, bath time, popsicles, spaghetti, playing outside, climbing, riding in the cozy coupe car, playdoh, having your hair brushed, and picking up Annabelle from school.

We can’t believe how much you have grown lately – and can’t believe you are about to be a big sister, too!  You are such a joy to our entire family!
