This has been our most amazing, most challenging and most rewarding year yet. We have grown in ways we could not have imagined before this year. We have learned so much about the selflessness involved in being parents. We are learning together what it takes to keep our marriage strong and centered admist all of the stresses of balancing two jobs and a baby. We have seen the most exhausted and most vulnerable versions of each other. We have laughed together daily. We have spent many precious moments together watching our baby grow. We have said many prayers of gratitude for the gift we have been given in each other. We have been greatly blessed in year five.

Yeah for 5 years!! It's so hard to stay connected that first year with a child...especially for the mommies (crazy hormones!). For me, personally, it took a good 9-10 months before I started to feel kind of normal again and like a "woman"...not just a mommy. I'm not sure if it's the breastfeeding or just being a new parent, but it was really hard to "find myself again".
So glad you have a best friend to help you survive that first year! Can you imagine being a single parent?
Happy Anniversary!
